Overview
Lamella clarifiers use packs of inclined plates to create enormous effective settling area in a compact tank. Solids settle on plates and slide to a hopper while clear effluent overflows.
How It Works
Process flow and treatment mechanism in simple steps:
- 1
Pre-treated water flows upward between closely spaced inclined plates.
- 2
Solids settle on plate surfaces and slide down into the sludge hopper.
- 3
Clear water continues upward and exits over outlet weirs.
- 4
Sludge is discharged periodically for further handling.
