Equipment
SBR and MBR Systems
Sequencing batch reactors and membrane bioreactors for BOD/COD reduction and reuse-quality effluent.
Overview
K-Pack supplies both SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor) and MBR (Membrane Bioreactor) biological treatment systems. SBR performs aeration, settling and decanting in a single tank — ideal for variable flows without a secondary clarifier. MBR integrates biological treatment with membrane ultrafiltration to deliver reuse-quality effluent in a compact footprint. Our engineers select and size the right configuration for your discharge or reuse targets.
How It Works
Process flow and treatment mechanism in simple steps:
- 1
SBR: Wastewater fills the reactor tank during the fill phase.
- 2
SBR: Aeration promotes biological oxidation of BOD and COD.
- 3
SBR: Mixing stops and solids settle during the quiet phase; treated supernatant is decanted.
- 4
MBR: Wastewater is biologically treated in an aeration tank at high MLSS.
- 5
MBR: Submerged or external membranes filter mixed liquor continuously.
- 6
MBR: Permeate exits as reuse-quality filtrate with turbidity below 1 NTU.
- 7
Excess sludge is wasted periodically; membranes are cleaned in place where applicable.
- 8
Automated PLC control manages cycles, aeration and membrane operation.
